Classes


Class times:   

Currently we have no class times because we have no location. We are on hold for the time being, lacking the finances to rent a space, and with the head instructor working too much overtime. We aren't giving up, just need circumstances to change before we can resume teaching.
 

Cost: 

$5 per class; on a 10 class punch card system. One card is $50 total

Discounts are available for multiple family members.


Sign up: 

When we reopen:
First come and watch, then try one class for free. To enroll, either purchase a card with ten classes for $50 or register with Chemeketa for up to 3 college PE credits. 

Family rates are available too. Promotion in rank is available through the Grandmasters, with instructor approval. You don't need a uniform unless you wish to promote or participate in a tournament. See the "Testing" page for more information on promotion costs and locations.

Front Kick: The Forgotten Weapon

For some reason, less experienced students tend to forget about front kick during sparring matches. They often rely on side kick and round kick, even when the angle is wrong and a front kick would have been simpler, faster, and easier. Maybe the problem is that from a beginner’s point of view, front kick is not so simple. It does require some skill to produce a proper front kick weapon, and many students struggle with pulling their toes back far enough. This article offers some ways to build those muscles and perfect that front kick. But remember, the black belts have such beautiful weapons of the foot because they’ve spent years developing them.
